Skillet Chicken and Peppers Dinner Recipe
I’ve always been fascinated by family dynamics, particularly those portrayed in classic mob movies and shows. One thing that stands out in almost every one of these movies is the strong family bonds and the importance of sharing good food. I find myself envying that sense of togetherness and the delicious Italian meals they share.
Dinner Inspiration
My son and I recently enjoyed watching some classic gangster movies, and it got me craving a hearty Italian dish. I’ve been planning to try making Henry Hill’s famous meatballs from Goodfellas, but for now, I decided to go for something a bit quicker and easier.
The inspiration struck when I spotted Star Butter Flavored Olive Oil at my local grocery store. I’d never tried it before, but the idea of incorporating its rich, buttery flavor into an Italian-style dish was immediately appealing. I picked up a bottle, eager to see what I could create.
That weekend, after a fun day out in Phoenix, enjoying the amazing weather, I realized I hadn’t planned dinner! So, I quickly asked my partner to stop at the grocery store on the way home. Fry’s is always convenient, and the staff is incredibly helpful, making it a great place for a quick grocery run.
I wanted something easy, flavorful, and fuss-free. I grabbed some fresh bell peppers from the produce section and headed over to the meat department. A helpful staff member pointed me towards a great deal on chicken – boneless, skinless breasts and thighs – which were perfect for a skillet dish.
Ingredients for Skillet Chicken and Peppers
With the chicken and peppers in hand, I had a clear vision for the dish. I grabbed a can of diced tomatoes, because what Italian-inspired dish is complete without tomatoes? And, of course, some pasta. Finally, cheese, because cheese makes everything better!
